Gamma Radiation in the Prevention of Dilation Catheter restenosis Coronary

Intravascular coronary brachytherapy using beta or gamma radiation is considered for payment as treatment of restenosis of the metallic “stent” in a coronary artery native.

Intravascular brachytherapy using beta or gamma radiation is considered for payment astreatment of stent restenosis in a non-native coronary artery (i.e. graft of the saphenous vein)
Intravascular coronary brachytherapy as a treatment to reduce the risk of a restenosis with a sirolimus-medicated or non-medicated stent is not considered for payment, since its use in this indication has
been decreasing.

Intravascular brachytherapy in the femoropopliteal system is not considered for payment, since there are no specific devices for use in the peripheral arterial system.
Coronary intravascular brachytherapy is not considered for payment as a treatment for prevent de novo restenosis, in conjunction with PTCA with or without use of stent.
